You want a flat screen television but you cannot decide whether to buy a plasma television or an LCD TV. This article aims to compare the different features of plasma and LCD technology. Each one may have an edge over the other so in the end, the decision is still up to you.
Plasma television was the first one to be out in the market. They have the lead since they are the first in the market to produce 42 and 50 inches models. And since these models are the first in the market, their prices have also gone down, a big difference from the original price. Plasma is the winner in this part.
It has only been recently that the LCD televisions are producing screens as big as 42 inches. These LCD televisions are catching up in order to be able to compete with plasma. The most common and popular size is 42 inches and this is the one size that most manufacturers are giving more attention in producing. There might even be an oversupply of these televisions so you can expect the prices to drop drastically. In comparing plasma and LCD, plasma is the winner with regard to affordability since it was first in the market. But you can expect LCD TVs to be cutting down on prices.
For customers who take pleasure in multimedia, LCD is the best choice. LCD has the ability to connect computer and memory sticks. You can use your liquid crystal display television as a computer monitor. MP3 files can be played in LCD TVs and you can also view pictures from you digital camera or camcorders. It can also be used for gaming.
Slowly, LCD televisions are gaining an advantage over plasma. This is because the former has a longer life span. unlike plasma televisions which suffer from burn-in problems, LCD absolutely do not have any problem even when turned on for a long period of time. In a matter of time, LCD will totally reign over the plasma televisions.
